Sit back and relax as he shares his thoughts and musings on the matter.

1. Could you share something about yourself that isn’t typically known to the public?

“There aren't many things I like to spend my time with. Besides the vast field of aesthetics and wellness that keeps me busy throughout the week, I keep myself occupied by creating a healthy balance between work, fitness, mindset and leisure. I do enjoy the morning fasted gym sessions and spending my free time alongside family and friends. I do often cruise through lifestyle podcasts online during my commute to work and back. I find small yet meaningful pursuits in life hold the most weight. In my opinion, having many different outlets and avenues, filling up schedules might work for some, but not for me. The goal is to be calm, competent, healthy and have the most time spent with loved ones.”

2. Do you have a skincare routine that you swear by? If so, what does it include?

“I believe that a solid skincare routine is a fantastic way to enhance and brighten your appearance. It’s worth noting that you don’t need an elaborate "22-step" regimen or expensive products to see great results. I’m a big fan of keeping things simple yet effective. I start with a gentle face cleanser, using it twice a day to keep my skin clean without stripping away essential oils. Then, I apply a good coated moisturiser to lock in hydration, which really helps brighten my skin. For anti-aging, I swear by a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 50 or higher and PA+++, it’s affordable and makes a real difference in anti-aging without breaking the bank. Lastly, I love using a retinoid gel at night to boost cell turnover and take my skincare routine to the next level. You can't go wrong with simplicity.”

3. How do you tailor treatments to accommodate different skin types and conditions?

“In clinical practice, I encounter a diverse range of faces, each with unique skin concerns and textures. As an aesthetic doctor, it’s crucial to tailor treatments based on individual skin types and conditions. Some skin types may require more care during recovery, even after undergoing the same procedure. That’s why I prioritise safety by adjusting laser settings, peel strengths, and needle gauges for injectables before starting any treatment plan. This personalised approach ensures that each patient receives the best care possible.”

4. What’s the most challenging aspect of your job, and how do you overcome it?

“One of the biggest challenges in roles influenced by society's expectations is managing those expectations effectively. It's important to remember that we can't please everyone we meet. What matters most is that we focus on providing the best possible opinions and treatments tailored to each patient’s concerns and skin type. By adhering to basic principles of care, we can ensure positive outcomes and build trust with our patients. Secondly, as an aesthetic doctor, I often face challenges such as staying updated with the latest techniques and trends in a rapidly evolving field. My job of balancing patient desires with realistic outcomes can also be difficult, as some may have expectations that exceed what is realistic. A clear and open communication between us doctors and patients is always the best approach.”

5. What role do you think aesthetics play in overall wellness and self-confidence?

“Aesthetics in general, truly have a profound impact on overall wellness and self-confidence. I’ve witnessed firsthand  how even small adjustments can significantly boost someone’s self-esteem and outlook on life. When people feel good about how they look, it often leads to a brighter mood and more positive interactions with others. For many people, taking the time to care for their appearance is a form of self-love. It’s not just about achieving a certain look, it’s about feeling more comfortable and confident in their own skin. I’ve seen clients light up after a treatment, and that transformation goes far beyond the surface. As a general rule I remind my customers, when we feel good about ourselves, it elevates our lives in countless ways, enhancing both our mental well-being and the world around us.”

6. What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone considering their first aesthetic treatment?

“If I could offer one piece of advice to patients experiencing their first treatment, it would be to approach the process with an open mind and patience. It’s completely normal to feel a mix of excitement and nervousness, but remember that every journey starts with that first step. We as aesthetic doctors are here to guide you and ensure you feel comfortable every step of the way. Furthermore, give yourself time to adjust to the changes as you may not see immediate results, but with patience and proper care, you’ll start to notice the positive effects. As the saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day."
